Genesis of the Science Party
Genesis of the Science Party
When the Democrats lost control of the House after the mid-term election in 2010, one of the key promises that Senator Mitch McConnell had publicly professed earlier was set into motion. That goal was to prevent President Obama from winning a second term. This obviously failed but what the Republicans succeeded in was impeding President Obama from getting almost anything done through the standard legislative process, including something as normal as appointments to the Federal government and to the Supreme Court. The fact that the Democrats were unable to successfully thwart this strategic move made the experience excruciating for the general public who were forced to endure years of gridlock. It became clear that something had to change.
But nothing changed. It just got worse.
The 2016 election changed the entire landscape altogether. The country showed it was deeply divided. Some reasons for this division can be attributed to false information prejudicing viewpoints. Other reasons are not fully understood. Regardless, one thing became clear: our politicians failed us. This country that has produced leaders of international renown from the commercial, academic, and political spectrum, is now struggling to have strong, scientifically minded leaders even consider elected office. The United States needs people with strong scientific and intellectual acumen in elected office to affect change.
In 2017, after years of waiting, a non-political dad looking out for the future of his young kids decided to act. The National Science Committee, the governing body of the Science Party, was created. The Science Party, a place where the scientifically inclined can work together, formulate policies, and push legislation that affect Americans at the local level up to the Federal level across the country. The Science Party intends to field strong leaders who, once elected, will affect the country starting at the local level. It's time to focus on real solutions to problems from a scientific perspective only for objectivity. It's time for some original thinking. It's time to reinvent. It's time to transform the country in time for our young to enjoy it. It can be done.

Our Vision
Our Vision
The National Science Committee, the governing body of the Science Party, believes that all political & policy dialogue should be civil, open, evidence based, factual, debated, representative of leading theories & strategies, and be publicly available for the electorate to analyze.
The National Science Committee believes that political discourse should have one common factor throughout, evidence based facts. At its core, the Party agrees upon the necessity that its experts and leaders across all political persuasion must have a baseline agreement of facts prior to any material debate on policy.
In a difficult political environment, it is imperative that the electorate knows precisely what the Party stands for. The Party is in its startup phase and expects as part of its founding charter that its positions on all policies are published and made available to you, the people.
This is imperative in today's age of fake news. If you need confirmation of the Science Party's position, scienceparty.org will be the definitive source.
It is fairly common for any difficult topic that several competing proposals are offered. Sometimes they vary slightly and other times drastically. In the spirit of scientific exploration, the Party will not discount any option. Each legitimate solution will be seriously discussed and argued.
The challenge in trying to solve societal problems through policy is that the problems vary in significance from urban to rural America, from state to state, and at the federal level. That is why the actual legislation can be ugly. When leaders run for office, they often present a multi-point plans of how all major issues will be addressed. The challenge, scientifically, is that one must be willing to try something new if the plan fails. And the public should know what Plan B or C entails, if one exists. It is presumptuous to suggest that one's solution will work in theory.
As a result, the top 2-3 competing Party positions for all policy proposals will be made available along with how each position was rated from a favorability perspective by the National Science Committee.
